NSO Kochi organises Plantation Drive

Kochi, Apr 22 (UNI) National Statistical Office has successfully executed a "Plantation Drive" as part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the erstwhile National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO).
The event, which coincided with the global observance of World Earth Day, was held at the Kendriya Bhavan office premises in Kakkanad, where many Central Government offices are located.
The Plantation Drive symbolises the importance of environmental conservation and the green lushness of nature. This day emphasises the need to maintain ecological balance and protect the planet’s natural resources.
In continuation of its ongoing environmental initiatives and in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the erstwhile National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO), Sub Regional Office (SRO) had earlier launched a similar campaign on 19th March 2025.
As part of this year’s efforts, a total of four saplings have now been planted in the premises, including the three saplings added today.
The saplings were planted by distinguished officials, including Shri B. Madhusudhana Rao, Superintending Engineer, CPWD, Kochi (represented by Sri John Mathew, AE, CPWD, Kochi), Sri A. Phani Teja,Executive Engineer (EE), CPWD, Kochi, and Sri P. Santhosh, Assistant Director, NSO, SRO Kochi.
This plantation drive reflects SRO Kochi's ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and its support for national efforts to protect and preserve the environment.
