Operation Sindoor: J&K BJP calls for crackdown on anti-national influencers

Jammu, May 20 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir BJP on Tuesday raised alarm over growing internal security threats and urged the government and security agencies to intensify their crackdown on individuals allegedly involved in espionage and anti-national activities.
Addressing a press conference here at the BJP headquarters following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, BJP spokesperson Dr. Tahir Choudhary stressed the need for public vigilance and collective responsibility in safeguarding national integrity.
Accompanied by J&K BJP Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, former District President Rekha Mahajan, and senior party leader Anu Gupta, Dr. Choudhary commended India’s security forces for their prompt response and ongoing investigations.
“So far, nearly 20 suspects have been arrested across Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, and are being interrogated by various intelligence agencies,” he informed.
Dr. Choudhary revealed that many of those under investigation are social media influencers and YouTubers with frequent connections to foreign countries.

“These individuals enjoy Indian facilities and hospitality, but in return, pass sensitive information to hostile nations, particularly Pakistan,” he alleged. “They travel abroad, receive gifts, stay in luxury hotels — all funded by entities that aim to destabilize India.”
He specifically warned about possible sleeper cells or informants within Jammu and Kashmir, who may be collecting and transmitting information related to borders, airports, and defense installations.
“Such individuals must be identified and exposed before they cause irreparable harm,” he stated.
Appealing to journalists and citizens, Dr. Choudhary said, “You live closest to the ground realities. If someone’s lifestyle changes overnight — from modest means to luxury vehicles, expensive gadgets, and palatial homes — questions must be asked. Where is this wealth coming from?”
He emphasized that many spies are lured through honey traps, blackmail, or monetary temptation, and some become repeat offenders.
“We are not just facing a military or political war — this is an information war being fought from within,” he asserted.
Dr. Choudhary reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to national security. “Our agencies are alert and working round the clock. But we need media support and public cooperation to win this fight. Together, we can expose these threats and secure our nation.”
