Palestinian flag waved in Saharanpur, five arrested

Saharanpur (UP), Mar 31 (UNI) A section of Muslim youths created a ruckus and waved Palestinian flags while raising pro-Palestine slogans at the Chowk Ghantaghar of Saharanpur city in western Uttar Pradesh on Monday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the unruly youths were returning after offering Eid prayers at the Eidgah. "The police officers were taken aback after the ruckus broke out at the Ghantaghar Chowk, as no one had anticipated their act. The police have registered a case against seven named and 45 unidentified people in the city police station under various sections," Police said.
Superintendent of Police Vyom Bindal said that the police are investigating and taking action in the case. "The police have arrested five out of seven named persons and have identified the numbers of eight bikes," he said.
Circle Officer (City) Ashok Sisodia said that police teams are searching for the youths.
Police sources said, among the arrested youths, Ujaif and Farman said that they were raising slogans after seeing other youths doing it; they had no prior information about it.
Apart from this incident, Eid was celebrated in the district with peace and brotherhood. Thousands of Muslims offered Namaaz at Idgah. After the Namaaz, MP Imran Masood, District Magistrate Manish Bansal, SSP Rohit Sajwan and ADM Administration Dr Archana Dwivedi congratulated the Muslims on Eid.
