PM Modi- Mohan Bhagwat meeting on March 30 a routine affair: RSS spokesperson

Bengaluru, Mar 19 (UNI) Amid speculation surrounding the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur on March 30, RSS spokesperson Sunil Ambekar on Wednesday termed it a "routine meeting" and dismissed any political significance attached to it.
Replying to a UNI query at a press conference, Ambekar said, "It is a routine meeting. This happens every year. We discuss the functioning of the RSS, review it, and plan to further our programmes. I think it has nothing to do with that (politics), every organisation does its job. I believe it is a very routine meeting."
His remarks come at a time when the BJP is set to announce its new National President, and the absence of explicit praise from the RSS for PM Narendra Modi despite his vocal appreciation of the organisation has raised eyebrows in political circles.
Ambedkar also addressed issues concerning Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh, stating that the matter would be deliberated in the upcoming three-day Pratinidhi Sabha of the RSS beginning March 21 in the city.
"This matter (Bangladesh) will be discussed in the Pratinidhi Sabha, and only after a resolution is passed it will become official. However, everyone is already aware of the atrocities in Bangladesh on Hindus and other minorities.
Earlier also RSS condemned. In the past, we have participated in demonstrations on such concerns. We firmly believe that Hindus' security and their sensitivity and pride should be respected everywhere, whether in Bangladesh or anywhere in the world," Ambekar asserted.
The RSS is also expected to discuss key resolutions in its centenary year. He highlighted that one of the major resolutions would be on how to express the organisation’s stance on global issues affecting Hindus.
Another key agenda will focus on reflecting on the RSS' journey as it completes 100 years, its contributions to social and political causes, national integrity, and security.
"Reflecting on this journey is important, but so is looking ahead. Our discussions will also focus on the future course of action and research initiatives," he said.
The RSS, founded in 1925, has played a significant role in shaping India’s socio-political landscape. The Pratinidhi Sabha, the highest decision-making body of the organisation, is expected to deliberate on a range of issues, with its resolutions likely to have far-reaching implications.
