Chandigarh, May 5 (UNI) In the ongoing crackdown against terror networks, the Amritsar rural police arrested three associates of UK-based gangsters in Tarn Taran on Monday, said DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Monday. Six pistols and live cartridges were recovered from them, Yadav added.
The proclaimed criminals based overseas have been identified as Dharmpreet Singh alias Dharma Sandhu and Jassa Patti. The police said the criminals' Tarn Taran-based associates are Vijay Masih, Agrej Singh and Iqbal Singh.
The DGP said the police recovered 3 Glock pistols, 3 Beretta 30 bore pistols, 20 live cartridges (9mm), 20 live cartridges (30 bore), 4 Mobile phones and 1 Activa Scooter.
He said the initial probe indicated the three were in touch with international criminal syndicates and involved in unlawful arms movement.
The police said an FIR has been registered at police station Lopoke. Further investigation is ongoing to expose the full extent of the network, police said.
