Rajasthan: Two police officials suspended over youth's death in Sawai Madhopur

Bharatpur, May 17 (UNI) Following the death of a youth during a police operation in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, the station incharge, Suman Kumar, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Labhu Ram, have been suspended and departmental inquiries have been initiated against them.

According to sources, DSP Labhu Ram had reached the Banas river in Chauth Ka Barwara, on Thursday night, to take action against illegal mining without informing the Superintendent of Police.

During the operation, a youth, Suryagan Meena, died, which led to widespread anger among the locals. The mob set fire to Labhu Ram's private vehicle.

The incident highlighted serious negligence on the part of the police, with villagers accusing them of involvement in illegal mining and corruption.
Following these allegations, the Director General of Police's office issued orders suspending both officials with immediate effect.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and no arrests have been made in connection with the arson incident. The police are taking action in the case.
