Six major routes of UP being reconstructed and strengthened

Lucknow, Mar 31 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government is rapidly advancing the development of key road networks across the state, ensuring seamless connectivity in Awadh and Purvanchal, official sources said here on Monday.
Sources said that, acting on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives, the reconstruction, widening, and strengthening of six major road routes across five districts have been fast-tracked. "To facilitate this, administrative and financial approvals exceeding Rs 66 crore have been sanctioned, with no resource constraints allowed to hinder progress. This initiative is set to enhance the region's road infrastructure significantly," they said.
Sources said that improved roads will directly benefit residents of Varanasi, Barabanki, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, and Azamgarh, reducing traffic accidents and fostering economic growth.
Construction on the Lucknow-Barabanki-Gorakhpur-Mokama stretch of National Highway-28 has been accelerated to enhance large-scale traffic movement. Simultaneously, widening and divider construction on Asiani Road is being prioritised. In Varanasi, expanding Dalmandi Road will ease congestion and improve traffic flow.
In Sant Kabir Nagar, the development of Nighuri Rajediha to Parsa Shukla Road will substantially relieve villagers, while in Basti, the reconstruction of Gaur Belvariya to Majha Manpur Road will boost regional connectivity.
Besides, the state government is upgrading rural roads in Azamgarh, with the reconstruction of the Khuraso-Mijwan link road improving travel convenience for residents. This ambitious project will create a stronger and more efficient road network in Awadh and Purvanchal, benefiting crores of commuters.
The swift execution of these projects is expected to drive economic activity, enhance trade, and improve transportation. Under the CM's directive, the Public Works Department has been tasked with ensuring timely completion.
