Fatehpur (UP), Apr 8 (UNI) Three members of a family, including district vice-president of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Tikait), were shot dead by unidentified miscreants allegedly over political rivalry in Tahirapur area of Fatehpur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, a senior police officer said here.
Inspector General of Police (IG), Prayagraj Zone, Prem Gautam said that the incident took place when Vinod Singh alias Pappu Singh (55), who was district vice president of BKU and a resident of Lawri village under of Hathgam police station, along with his younger brother Pinku Singh (50) years and his son Abhay Singh (22) were returning from their farm in Akhri village.
He said that near Tahirapur, unidentified miscreants attackers opened indiscriminate firing, due to which all three died on the spot. "The mother of the deceased, Shiv Dulari Singh, is currently the village head. Both the deceased and the attacker belong to the Kshatriya community," he said.
