Washington, Apr 24 (UNI) Soon after Russia launched its deadliest attacks on Kyiv in nine months, US President Donald Trump showed his disappointment with Moscow, telling his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to ‘Stop’, CNN reported.
Russia sent 70 missiles and 145 drones toward Ukraine, mainly targeting Kyiv.
“I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Let's get the Peace Deal DONE!” Trump wrote on his social media Truth Social, on Thursday.
Trump stated that there is a lot of hatred between Ukraine and Russia but also expressed his belief that both want to make peace.
Ukraine’s emergency services said at least 12 people died in the deadly strikes, with 90 injured. Many more people are feared to be trapped under rubble. Russia’s attack targeted 13 locations in Kyiv, including residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, the emergency services said.
A search and rescue operation is underway to find people caught under rubble, according to Ukrainian local and national authorities.
