Waqf law will prove to be a Waterloo for BJP: Akhilesh

Waqf law will prove to be a Waterloo for BJP: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Apr 5 (UNI) Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party of turning pages of history for political benefits, Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the new Waqf law will prove to be a Waterloo for the BJP.

Talking to the reporters at SP state headquarters here in Lucknow, Akhilesh said, "I had said this in Lok Sabha and I am saying it again that the Waqf law will prove to be a Waterloo for the BJP."

He said that the SP has said on many occasions that history should not be changed. "The history that cannot take us on the path of prosperity and progress should be allowed to remain history. When Ramji Lal Suman's statement was expunged from the record in the Rajya Sabha, the matter ended."

The SP Chief said that there is both good and bad in history. "The BJP turns the pages of history for its political benefit. Not only this, many senior leaders and officials of the BJP who have centres in UP, Delhi, Gurgaon, and other places are spending crores of rupees on social media to defame the opposition, SP and INDI Alliance," he alleged.

He said that ever since the Waqf bill has come and the discussion on history has started, they are propagating it against the SP and the INDI Alliance on social media. "These are the same people who are scared of the power of the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak).

Calling the BJP the biggest land mafia party, Akhilesh said that the BJP people have bought the most land. "If the registrations of only four districts of Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Kanpur, and Lucknow are investigated, it will be known that the BJP people have occupied pond land, government land, or disputed land," he said.

He said, "Not only this, most of the land has been snatched through police influence and other means. Even today, bullets have been fired in the Gorakhpur area over land. Ananya of Jalalpur of Ambedkar Nagar has become homeless. How inhuman it has been. The High Court and Supreme Court have also commented many times, calling the action of bulldozer inhuman."

The SP chief said that the BJP is the most corrupt. BJP is the biggest land mafia party, and the law and order of the state is in shambles. "There is no such thing as law in the entire state. The BJP government's claim of zero tolerance on corruption and crime has become zero. Injustice, atrocities are at their peak. People are not getting justice. They have to wander for justice. Now the situation has become such that even the BJP people are angry with the BJP government," he claimed.

He alleged that such a naked dance of corruption had never happened in any government. "An IAS officer connected to the top of the government is involved in corruption and commission. The middleman connected to him was also caught. He used to manage the corrupt acts of not just one officer but many people," he said.

Akhilesh said that since the BJP's slogan of 80-20 is not working, it has resorted to communal politics. "PDA and half of the population are 90 percent. It is a matter of 90-10. PDA is completely with SP. BJP is scared of PDA's unity. That is why BJP leaders and their affiliated organisations are running a campaign to defame SP and the INDI Alliance by spending crores of rupees," he alleged.

He said that if the BJP could not bring investment, it would bring destruction. "The BJP government used to say that it could find criminals even in the netherworld. All the corrupt people are hiding in the Chief Minister's residence, why is it not able to find them?" he said.

The SP chief said that now the issue of the tariff has also come up. "America is imposing tariffs to save its economy. The government should tell us where our economy stands in such a situation," he said.

He claimed that the BJP government gives false figures about the economy. "The government should only tell the per capita income of those poor people who are dependent on the government ration. The BJP wants that basic issues should not be discussed," he said.
