'12 Manohar Years': Saini marks BJP's 12-year journey in Haryana, hails predecessor's governance legacy

Panchkula, Oct 26 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday marked the completion of 12 years since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) first formed a majority government in the state, describing the period as a journey from resolve to achievement and paying tribute to the administrative legacy of his predecessor, union Minister Manohar Lal.
In a social media post titled "From Resolve to Achievement: 12 Manohar Years in Public Life", Saini recalled October 26, 2014, when Manohar Lal took oath as Chief Minister following the BJP's historic victory in the Haryana Assembly elections.
The BJP had secured 47 seats in the 90-member Assembly, forming its first majority government in Haryana.
Saini credited Manohar Lal with promoting transparency, e-governance and merit-based recruitment, saying these initiatives had laid the foundation for a new approach to governance and administrative reforms in the state.
He said his government was carrying forward Manohar Lal's legacy while pursuing the goal of a developed Haryana through continued welfare programmes and development initiatives.
Manohar Lal served as Haryana Chief Minister from October 2014 until March 2024, when Saini succeeded him. He subsequently became union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs.
