UP: CM Yogi takes swipe at Akhilesh Yadav

Kanpur, Oct 26 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today took a sharp dig at Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, saying "you can inherit power once, but now you're not going to get it".
"You inherited power once, but a wooden pot cannot be used again and again. Seeing your actions, the people of the state have already sent you away. Stop dreaming again and remember that you can inherit a throne once, but wisdom cannot be used. Wisdom requires effort and groundwork," he said while speaking at a programme organized in Bithoor on Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti.
Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 48 development projects worth over Rs 411 crore in Kanpur.
Launching a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, and the Congress, he said, "Looking at your actions, I can tell you that you may have once attained power, but now you're not going to get it, and your wisdom was already absent."
The Chief Minister further said, "We respect tradition and heritage."
Referring to Ram's arrival in Ayodhya, he said that for thousands of years, Ayodhya had only broken roads, no electricity, and was filthy. He said that the Congress and Samajwadi Party's culture—the habit of living in filth, committing dirty deeds, and committing robberies in the dark—was also practised in Ayodhya.
Ayodhya was denied electricity, development failed, and when the BJP government formulated an action plan, they obstructed it, he said and recalled that even during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, they tried every possible way to prevent the construction of the temple, development, and the airport. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a grand temple for Ram Lalla has been built. The Ram Janmabhoomi complex also houses the Valmiki Temple, Goswami Tulsidas Temple, Shabari Mata Temple, and Nishadraj Temples.
Referring to the 56-foot-tall statue of Ram and Nishadraj in Shringaverpur, he said that people used to ask what was the need for it today. He said that as long as this friendship persists, the rule of the SP and Congress should be considered certain.
Attacking the SP's tenure, the Chief Minister said that in the first cabinet meeting after forming the government in 2012, they removed Sant Ravidas Nagar from the name of Bhadohi, removed the name of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar from the Medical College in Kannauj, and replaced the name of Kanshi Ram with Moinuddin Chishti from the Language University in Lucknow.
Citing the example of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, he said that before 2017, not even 20 devotees could visit at a time, but today 20,000 devotees can visit simultaneously. He said that it was due to PM Modi that the Panchtirthas associated with Dr. Ambedkar were developed and the Constitution was respected when he installed a copy of the Constitution in the new Parliament, carrying it on his head. He said that those who are friends of rioters, who had made creating anarchy and committing robbery by keeping people in the dark a part of their life, for whom the state had become their family, how will they bring about development?
Reading a statement from the SP President, the Chief Minister said that there are currently two "Miyas" in the country: one "Chote Miyan" (smaller) and other "Bada Miyan." Both the "Chote Miyan" and the "Bada Miyan" have a deep love for infiltrators. They embrace Bangladeshi infiltrators and insult Dalits, the deprived, the poor, the farmers who feed them, and the youth.
He said that the SP and the Congress had the opportunity to rule for a long time. Back then, farmers were forced to commit suicide, the poor starved, the youth were deprived of jobs, and their rights were robbed in the name of jobs, he charged.
He claimed that the SP itself posed a threat to women's safety. Its goons encroached on the lands of traders and the poor, and the Chief Minister honoured rioters at his residence.
Recalling the incidents in Kosi Kalan and Jawahar Bagh in Mathura, he said that a leader associated with the SP had occupied and constructed buildings on hundreds of acres of park land for two years. SP Mukul Dwivedi and Station House Officer Santosh Yadav, who went to remove him, were murdered. He asked, "When even the police weren't safe, what was the plight of ordinary citizens?"
Referring to the Muzaffarnagar riots, he said that Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Saharanpur, Meerut, and Bulandshahr—the entire western Uttar Pradesh—burned for a long time. People were freezing to death in the bitter cold, while the then Chief Minister, the head of the Samajwadi Party, slept quietly, covering his ears with a blanket. They want to repeat the same havoc they unleashed in the state.
The Chief Minister further claimed that these people put constitutional institutions on trial, insulted the courts, supported Bangladeshi and Pakistani infiltrators, and insulted the citizens of Uttar Pradesh by calling them infiltrators.
He asked, "Akhilesh ji, why do you have so much love for Bangladeshi infiltrators?" He alleged that Akhilesh and his party forcibly included the names of infiltrators in the SIR, robbing the poor of their rights. He claimed that when infiltrators arrive, these same people make their ration cards and deliver the poor's rations to them.
"This was the reason why, before 2017, the poor starved, farmers were forced to commit suicide, daughters' safety was at risk, and foreign infiltrators occupied whatever they pleased."
The Chief Minister said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) provided for citizenship and a dignified life for Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Sikhs expelled from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
He alleged that the Samajwadi Party and Congress opposed it, indicating their inherent hostility towards Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Sikhs. He said that they resorted to vandalism and arson, and even attempted a violent incident in Kanpur. It has become their destiny to help infiltrators on one hand and insult the poor and deprived locals by calling them infiltrators on the other.
The Chief Minister said that in 1931, a riot broke out in Kanpur, in which the fearless and nationalist journalist Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi was murdered by rioters while trying to save the lives of innocent Hindus. He said that MLA Rahul Bachcha Sonkar's father was also brutally murdered by the same rioters. The only remedy for rioters lies with the BJP's double-engine government.
Referring to Vijayadashami, he said that the festival was celebrated peacefully, and every village, city, ward, and home was filled with joy. This joyous, festive atmosphere is what Ramrajya is all about. He asked whether anyone imagined before 2017 that the Brahmavarta Ghat would be built here, that the Valmiki Ashram would receive a grand look, or that grand memorials to Nana Saheb Peshwa and Tatya Tope would be built.
He said that the then government's agenda included neither development, nor heritage, nor welfare of the poor, nor employment for the youth. He said that the money currently being spent on the Brahmavarta Ghat, Valmiki Ashram, the Peshwa-Tope Memorial, Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Ayodhya, Vindhyavasini Dham, and Mathura-Vrindavan was, before 2017, used to occupy the lands of the poor in the name of cemetery boundaries.
He said that there's no need to trust mafia sympathizers and those who seize land belonging to the poor and businessmen in the name of graveyards. These people will divide again, and after dividing, they will do the same thing that they did to Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi and Bachcha Sonkar in Kanpur, he claimed.
He said that this opportunity should not be given to them at all. Before riots arise, their poisonous heads and fangs need to be crushed.
The Chief Minister chargd that SP means riots, SP means corruption, SP means nepotism, SP means playing with the lives of youth, SP means anarchy in the state. He said that these corrupt people, anarchists, mafia sympathizers, and friends of rioters need to be identified in time. He said that they will come in new guises. Now even the Samajwadi Party is chanting the name of Ram, but remember, you are Bajrangi. There is no need to believe all this.
Crediting Prime Minister Modi for establishing the connection with Ram through the installation of Valmiki, Goswami Tulsidas, and the Ram Lalla, he said that those who oppose Ram cannot accept this, and hence their baseless rants. Congress is mentally bankrupt and deranged. It gives birth to new conspiracies and puts the country's constitutional institutions in the dock.
He said that those whose destiny was dishonesty, corruption, anarchy, and tampering with the country's security, who created an identity crisis for India, are today blaming blatantly against constitutional institutions. He said that time has come to teach a lesson to the Congress and the Samajwadi Party and appealed that those who are insulting the country's constitutional institutions and freedom fighters should not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He alleged that these people are insulting Lakshmibai, Nana Saheb Peshwa, Tatya Tope, Chandrashekhar Azad, Ramprasad Bismil, Thakur Roshan Singh, Ashfaqulla Khan, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He charged that by criticizing the institutions of the Constitution created by these great men, these people are insulting both the Constitution and the freedom fighters.
Referring to the line from Ramcharitmanas, "Nahin koi dukhi nahi deena, nahin koi abudh na lachchan heena," the Chief Minister claimed that the work being done today is Ramrajya. He said that these lines highlight the actions of the double-engine government.
The Chief Minister claimed that the double-engine government has fostered development, respected heritage, and provided welfare schemes for the poor. 16 crore people in the state received free rations under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY). 65 lakh poor people received housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), 10 crore people received Ayushman Bharat benefits, and 2 crore people received cooking gas cylinders under the Ujjwala Yojana (Ujjwala Yojana). Every Ayushman and Ujjwala beneficiary received a free cylinder on Diwali. 67 lakh students were provided pre-matric and post-matric scholarships. Under the Chief Minister's Mass Marriage Scheme, more than 5 lakh daughters are being married, with a grant of Rs ₹1 lakh each.
He also claimed that there is no discrimination in the schemes; everyone's support is for everyone's development. Kanpur has received metro facilities, the airport has become operational, and a new expressway connecting Lucknow has been secured. Work on a new bridge over the Ganga in the Trans-Ganga region has been approved and progress has been made, and a bypass is underway, he added.
