"BJP will lose the day assembly election dates are announced": Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow, Oct 27 (UNI) Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday claimed that,"the truth is, the BJP will lose the day the election dates are announced to the assembly. This fear of defeat is forcing them to resort to dishonesty and manipulation in the ongoing MLC elections in Uttar Pradesh".
Addressing the media here, he alleged that in Lucknow, it was reported that unfolded ballot papers were found inside ballot boxes at booth number 97.
"This is simply impossible! Imagine the scale of their conspiracy. People's votes were being cancelled under the pretext of SIR and BJP doing everything to win the elections," he said.
Accusing the BJP of adopting a corporate approach to winning elections, he said "It is operating like large corporate companies. Large political management companies can decide the outcome to the council polls by 8:30 in the evening and declare anyone the winner. The situation is such that some people are even seeing saffron in red."
"We appeal to the Election Commission and the government to completely correct the voter lists in Uttar Pradesh and wherever elections are going to be held. Technology has become very easy these days. Why isn't it being linked to Aadhaar cards and biometrics? When we were implementing the PDS (ration) scheme. If biometrics are possible for rations, why aren't Aadhaar and biometrics being used for fair voting?," he questioned.
"The BJP is afraid, that's why they're threatening. Where BJP supporters are present, their votes are easily cast. Where there are fewer BJP voters, two machines are installed, while where the SP has a larger vote share, only one machine is deliberately installed to slow down voting," he alleged.
Talking about the downfall in law and order, the SP president said,"Even now the High Court and the Supreme Court have questioned the illegal functioning of the state police and comnented "Should the Uttar Pradesh police be disbanded?"
"Officials have been forced to appear in court several times to answer questions. Uttar Pradesh is becoming the number one state in the country in custodial deaths. Instead of remaining impartial, many administrative officials are acting as BJP workers," he alleged. UNI
