A significant increase of ₹3,332 crore in UP's major tax and non-tax revenues in September

Lucknow, Oct 6 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government's major tax and non-tax revenue streams increased by ₹3,332 crore in September 2026 compared to September 2025, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said on Tuesday
According to him, the state received a total revenue of ₹18,570 crore in the major tax and non-tax revenue streams in September of the financial year 2026-27, compared to ₹15,238 crore in September of the financial year 2025-26. Thus, the state government's major tax and non-tax revenue streams increased by ₹3,332 crore in September 2026 compared to September 2025.
He informed that till September of the current financial year, against the target of Rs. 160876.57 crore, a total revenue of Rs. 119769.53 crore has been received in tax revenue items.
Under GST, a total revenue of Rs. 7053 crore was received in September 2026, whereas in September 2025, the receipt was Rs. 5611 crore. Thus, there has been an increase of Rs. 1442 crore in the month of September 2026 as compared to the month of September 2025.
Under VAT, a revenue of Rs. 2628 crore was received in the month of September 2026, whereas in the month of September 2025 last year, the receipt was Rs. 2369 crore. Thus, there has been an increase of Rs. 259 crore in the month of September 2026 as compared to the month of September 2025.
The Finance Minister informed that under excise, a total revenue of ₹4611 crore was received in September 2026, which is 92.2 percent of the target revenue for the month of September. He informed that in September 2025 last year, the excise revenue was ₹3812 crore. Thus, there was an increase of ₹799 crore in September 2026 compared to September 2025.
Under Stamps and Registration, the revenue receipt for the month of September 2026 is ₹3054 crore, whereas in September 2025 last year, the receipt was ₹2517 crore. Thus, there was an increase of ₹537 crore in September 2026 compared to September 2025.
Under Transport, the revenue receipt for the month of September 2026 is ₹1001 crore, which is 105.6 percent of the target set for this period. Under the transport head, the receipt in September 2025 last year was Rs 746 crore. Thus, in September 2026, there has been an increase of Rs 255 crore as compared to September 2025.
Under the major item of non-tax revenue, Geology and Mining, the receipt in September 2026 is Rs 223 crore, whereas in September 2025 last year, the receipt was Rs 183 crore. The Finance Minister informed that till September of the financial year 2026-27, Rs 119769.53 crore has been received under tax revenue, which is 74.4 percent of the target set for revenue receipt till September 2026. He informed that under state tax, till September, Rs 63529.21 crore has been received as against the target of Rs 97318.59 crore.
Under the Excise head, against the target of Rs 31800 crore for revenue collection till September 2026, Rs 29409.47 crore has been received, which is 92.5 percent of the target. Under Stamp and Registration, against the target of Rs 22352.60 crore till this period, Rs 18442.33 crore has been received, which is 82.5 percent of the target. He informed that under the Transport head, against the target of Rs 6639.36 crore till September 2026, Rs 6771.01 crore has been received, which is 102.00 percent of the target,
