Actor Dino Morea questioned by EOW in multi-crore Mithi River desilting scam

Mumbai, Oct 02 (UNI) Bollywood actor Dino Morea was questioned at lenght by the Mumbai Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in connection with an alleged multi-crore scam involving desilting work on the Mithi river, officials said on Friday.
Morea appeared before the EOW's Unit-4 office in Mumbai today and was questioned about his alleged links to the case and financial transactions suspected to be connected with the alleged irregularities.
He was questioned nearly five hours in the EOW office.
The investigation pertains to suspected financial irregularities in the execution of desilting work on the Mithi river, with investigators probing allegations of inflated bills, fabricated work records and the alleged diversion of public funds.
According to officials, the EOW is examining financial documents, payment records and transactions to establish the flow of money and identify individuals and entities that may have benefited from the alleged scam.
The agency is also investigating the execution of desilting contracts and verifying whether the work claimed by contractors corresponded with the work actually carried out on the ground.
