Angry students protest in Jaipur after coaching academy student slapped by teacher

Jaipur, Oct 4 (UNI) The police on Sunday used mild force to disperse an irate mob of students of a coaching academy who were protesting an incident of slapping of a student by the institute's teacher.
The accused teacher slapped the 19-year-old student multiple times in the classroom in the coaching hub in the Triveni Nagar-Gopalpura locality here.
A video pertaining to the incident went viral on social media and this drew sharp reactions as students and some youths from the nearby coaching centers held a demonstration outside the institute concerned, police sources said.
They were demanding the arrest of the accused teacher and action against the coaching institute.
To press their demand, the students resorted to blocking traffic on the busy road forcing police to use batons to disperse the mob of protesters.
Some youths-students were taken into custody, the police said, adding that the accused teacher has been sacked by the institute management.
