AP CM presents One-Year Governance Report; Lists Key Achievements

Vijayawada, June 23 (UNI) Marking the completion of one year in office, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday presented the Government’s progress report from June 2024 to June 2025 and laid out the long-term roadmap for a prosperous, inclusive, and globally competitive Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister noted that true development is only possible through strong political governance, where public representatives and officials work in tandem.
Recalling the massive public mandate secured in June 2024 with a 94% strike rate, he said the people voted not just for regime change but for rebuilding the state after years of misgovernance between 2019 and 2024.
Naidu credited the seamless functioning of the three-party NDA alliance—TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP—for the state's revival journey. He acknowledged the committed leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and BJP State President D. Purandeswari, noting their crucial role in ensuring coordinated governance. “This is not just a coalition of parties—it is a coalition of purpose,” the Chief Minister remarked.
The previous regime, he said, led to the breakdown of investor confidence, collapse of law and order, loss of institutional integrity, and irrational policy decisions such as the three-capital proposal.
Amaravati was neglected despite 29,000 farmers voluntarily giving 33,000 acres of land. Polavaram remained stalled, and Andhra Pradesh was pushed into a ₹10 lakh crore debt trap, with a fiscal score of zero in the NITI Aayog’s debt sustainability report.
On assuming office, the new government issued a Mega DSC to recruit 16,347 teachers, repealed the controversial Land Titling Act, increased pensions for seniors, persons with disabilities, widows and the chronically ill, and revived 203 Anna Canteens serving over 4 crore subsidized meals. The CM stated that governance began with four signature reforms rooted in welfare, education, transparency, and justice.
Central support was crucial: ₹11,400 crore for Vizag Steel Plant, ₹15,000 crore for Amaravati, ₹12,500 crore for Polavaram, ₹5,000 crore for industrial nodes, and the long-awaited Vizag Railway Zone were sanctioned.
Amaravati was reaffirmed as the people’s capital, with ₹58,000 crore worth of capital projects initiated under the P4 (Public-Private-People Partnership) model. Global partners like the World Bank, ADB, and KfW are supporting the project. Amaravati is envisioned to become a Quantum Valley, hosting knowledge, innovation, and technology hubs, targeting 3.5 million population, $35B GDP, and 1.5 million jobs by 2050.
Economic growth rebounded sharply with a 12.02% rise in GSDP, taking the state’s economy to ₹15.93 lakh crore. The agriculture sector grew 15.41%, with ₹1,852 crore in pending dues cleared, 55.57 LMT paddy procured, and ₹13,584 crore paid to 8.5 lakh farmers.
Rayalaseema is being developed as a horticulture powerhouse, and Coastal Andhra as an aquaculture hub. Handri-Neeva Canal received ₹3,800 crore in one year. A new Food Processing Policy (2024–29) was launched to strengthen farm-to-market value chains.
The CM emphasised the importance of creating wealth to support welfare. The state attracted Rs 9.34 lakh crore in investments over 11 months, resulting in 8.5 lakh job opportunities. Major industrial investments came from Adani, Tata, Reliance, Ashok Leyland. Andhra Pradesh’s share in national exports rose from 4.52% to 4.75% in 2024–25 despite a national slowdown. UNI DP SSP
