AP: CRDA okays building employees residential towers at cost of Rs 1732 cr

Vijayawada, May 6 (UNI) The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) on Tuesday approved to call for tenders for the construction of residential towers for gazetted and non-gazetted officers in the core capital area of Amaravati at a cost of Rs 1,732.31 crore.
Briefing media persons on the decisions taken by the 47th CRDA meeting held at the State Secretariat here with the Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, in the chair, the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, P Narayana, said that the meeting approved the tenders with regard to various works in the capital city of Amaravati.
The tenders are approved for the completion of residential towers for the gazetted officers worth Rs 514.41 crore taken up during 2014-19 and for another Rs 194.73 crore worth of works for creating external infrastructural facilities.
For building nine towers with Rs 506.67 crore for the non-gazetted officers residential complexes too is approved and for another 12 towers besides creating basic facilities with Rs 517.10 crore too are given approval by the CRDA, Narayana explained.
This apart, for the construction of a water plant with a capacity of 190MLD along with its operation and maintenance for five years with a total amount of Rs 560.57 crore besides for the construction of over-head tanks with Rs 494.86 cr are also cleared, he added.
The CRDA also gave its nod for calling tenders for E-3, E-13 and E-15 connecting roads with the national highways, Narayana said, adding that 1.5 km long elevated road in the E-3 seed access road along with 4.10 km in the E-13 are also approved for taking up their construction with Rs 348.78 crore. Also, the E-15 road will be extended by 3.98 km with Rs 70 crore.
The Cabinet committee meeting held on Tuesday to approve land allocation for various organisations in the core capital area cleared land allotment to seven organisations, the Minister said.
For Law University 55 acres, for Quantum Valley 50 acres, 0.78 acres each for the Income Tax department and Indian Red Cross Society, for the head office of the Coastal Bank 0.40 acres and for IRCTC Hotels one acre have been allocated, he explained.
Stating that the Basavatarakam Cancer Institute was earlier allotted 15 acres earlier, he said that now another six acres are allocated for building a medical college. Including the 64 organisations for which land has already been allocated, the Minister said that till now 1,050 acres have been allotted to 71 units, he stated.
