Uttam urges journalists to present huge strides being made in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 6 (UNI) Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday said that Hyderabad is rapidly transforming into a global investment hub, driven by the Congress government’s strategic focus on world-class infrastructure and investor-friendly policies.
Uttam urged the media to highlight this progress and play a proactive role in Telangana’s developmental journey.
Addressing a media awards ceremony held at the HICC here, the Minister said Hyderabad was witnessing large-scale investments from some of the biggest global players due to the state government’s sustained efforts in improving physical and industrial infrastructure.
“We are bringing the biggest names in the world to Hyderabad. Those who are already here, we are helping them expand their footprint further,” he said.
He emphasised that Hyderabad’s global reputation was built on a solid foundation laid by successive Congress governments.
“Whether it is the international airport, the Outer Ring Road, the Metro Rail, or the supply of drinking water from the Krishna and Godavari rivers to Hyderabad, these were all created by visionary Congress leadership. We are now building on that legacy with projects like Future City, Skill University, and the expansion of the Metro network,” he said.
Over the past year, Hyderabad has seen a strong wave of investment activity, with several established companies significantly expanding their operations and many new global players setting up shop in the city, he said.
"This renewed momentum reflects the confidence of global investors in Hyderabad’s infrastructure, policy environment, and skilled workforce - marking a clear shift in Telangana’s investment climate over the past year under the Congress government," Uttam said.
He underlined that every effort was being made to ease urban congestion and make Hyderabad a more liveable and investment-ready city.
“We are taking every suggestion seriously, whether it comes from citizens, industry experts, or the media, because we want Hyderabad to be a city that truly represents modern India on the global stage,” he said.
He urged journalists to actively cover and amplify the enormous progress being made in Telangana under the Congress government.
“You (Media) are in a very responsible position, not just as reporters, but as facilitators of growth for Hyderabad and Telangana. We look forward to your constructive, unbiased reporting,” he said.
Highlighting the need for collaboration between the media and the government, the Minister said both must act in unison to serve the people.
“We are partners in the progress of Telangana. We are partners in the well-being of our society. And we must never forget, we are ultimately here to serve the weakest sections and the poorest of the poor,” he declared.
He also commended the enduring contributions of the media fraternity to society and nation-building. “
Reflecting on history, Uttam recalled how journalists played a courageous role during India’s freedom movement and the Telangana statehood agitation.
He praised journalists for their resilience in facing daily challenges and staying committed to truth and accountability.
“Your relentless reporting and thoughtful analysis are a huge service to society. We in government deeply appreciate the sacrifices you make,” he said.
“Unlike the previous regime (BRS) our government is fully accessible. We are available 24x7 to receive your suggestions. Constructive criticism is always welcome, we treat it as an opportunity to improve,” he added, UNI KNR SSP
