AP Govt. approvers Rs 22,177 Cr. worth 28 projects

Vijayawada, Sep 18 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday approved 28 industrial proposals with investment of Rs.22,177.84 crore creating employment opportunities for 19,739 youth.
The proposals covered various sectors including energy, IT and communications, food processing, manufacturing and tourism. The Chief Minister directed the officials to create a comprehensive port infrastructure ecosystem along the State’s coastline.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to develop Andhra Pradesh as a leading hardware manufacturing destination and directed officials to attract major investments in advanced sectors such as semiconductors, chip manufacturing and robotics and called for infrastructure and facilities to be developed at electronics hubs such as Kopparthy, Tirupati and Lepakshi to attract large-scale investments.
Naidu directed the officials to facilitate the rapid establishment of research and manufacturing institutions in advanced fields such as quantum technology and high-performance computing. A comprehensive plan should be prepared to establish cluster industries around drone and space cities and link them with allied industries, he told them.
Minister Nara Lokesh said discussions are going on with Taiwan to develop an electronics and hardware manufacturing ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that projects approved by the SIPB move rapidly into production. Each project should be given a six-month timeline, with efforts made to ensure that work commences within that period.
Naidu emphasized the commercial utilisation of land available around all ports in the State and asked officials to prepare an integrated plan covering logistics, shipbuilding, warehouses, manufacturing and ancillary industries around ports.
Naidu directed officials to examine opportunities to develop Andhra Pradesh as a hub for rare earth minerals. An action plan should be prepared to integrate rare-earth-based processing, value-added industries, research and manufacturing, he said.
The officials informed the meeting that investments have already been secured for 113.75 GW out of the State’s targeted 160 GW capacity in green energy. The meeting was informed that a Hydrogen Valley Conference would be held at SRM University on December 17 and 18.

AP: 1,970 liquor shops opt for renewal, Rs 403 25 crore collected from 1,220 shops
