Telangana : BRS Working Prez KTR challenges Revanth to deposit Rs1 lakh crore over land allegations

Hyderabad, Sep 18 (UNI) BRS Working President and former Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Friday challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to deposit Rs 1 lakh crore into the accounts of poor people in Telangana if his allegations that the KCR family owns land worth Rs1 lakh crore are true.
In a statement, KTR said the KCR family was ready to transfer all its assets if the Chief Minister fulfilled the challenge, and demanded that Revanth Reddy withdraw the allegations and apologise if he could not substantiate them.
“Even if one per cent of the allegations you have made were true, I am making you an offer. We are ready to transfer all the assets we own. Will you deposit ₹1 lakh crore into the accounts of the poor people of Telangana?” KTR, the son of former Chief Minsiter KCR , asked.
KTR alleged that the fresh allegations were part of a political campaign by the Congress government to divert public attention from what he described as its failures during 1,000 days in office.
He claimed that an earlier campaign alleging that the KCR family owned a 1,000-acre farmhouse had failed and alleged that the government had now shifted to claims about Rs 1 lakh crore worth of land.
KTR referred to Revanth Reddy's alleged statement in the Assembly that only 67 acres were part of KCR's farm and questioned the Chief Minister's continued allegations.
The BRS leader also alleged that the government was attempting to divert attention from the Congress' unfulfilled electoral promises and the controversy surrounding lands included in the Section 22-A prohibited list.
Referring to the allegations of a Rs 1 lakh crore scam in the Kaleshwaram project made during the previous Assembly elections, KTR claimed that no corruption involving the alleged amount had been established so far.
He alleged that a similar political strategy was now being adopted through the fresh land allegations.
KTR also targeted the state government's handling of farmers' issues, alleging that farmers were facing power cuts, urea shortages and irrigation-related problems.
Instead of addressing these issues, the government was targeting the principal Opposition party, he alleged.
He further alleged that the Congress had promised two lakh jobs within its first year in office but had failed to fill even 10 per cent of them despite completing 1,000 days in power.
KTR accused the Chief Minister of making what he termed false and fabricated claims in the Assembly and alleged that such statements undermined the dignity of the legislature.
He further alleged that the Rs 1 lakh crore land issue was linked to the inclusion of 1.20 crore acres in the prohibited list under Section 22-A.
KTR accused the Revanth Reddy government of what he termed “illegal deals and blackmail politics” and alleged that it was focused on “looting and scams”.
He said the BRS would expose what it alleged were corruption and irregularities under the Congress government if it returned to power and would seek recovery of every rupee allegedly misappropriated.
