AP: Judge inspects living conditions at Kakinada Sub-Jail

Kakinada, Sept 19 (UNI): Third Additional District Judge and Mandal Legal Services Committee Chairman G Anandini on Saturday inspected the Kakinada Sub-Jail and reviewed the living conditions, welfare and safety of prisoners.
The Judge visited the sub-jail along with officials from the Revenue, Police, Education, Medical and Health, Employment and Training, Social Welfare, Industries and Irrigation departments.
During the inspection, Anandini interacted with prisoners and enquired about the availability of basic amenities, including safety measures, healthcare, drinking water, food, sanitation and toilets.
She also inspected the barracks and reviewed their condition.
The Judge inspected the sub-jail kitchen and enquired about the menu and food being served to prisoners.
She later visited the women’s barrack and interacted with the inmates to ascertain their living conditions and welfare.
Anandini said the Mandal Legal Services Committee would inspect the sub-jail once every three months to review prisoners’ welfare, safety and living conditions.
Kakinada RDO Sripada Mallibabu, District Medical and Health Officer Dr T Anitha, District Employment Officer and in-charge Social Welfare Officer G Srinivasarao, Agricultural Officer Ramarao, Sub-Jail Superintendent M Virababu, Deputy Jailor P Joseph and other officials accompanied the Judge during the inspection.
