AP: Officials told to make elaborate arrangements for ‘Rottela Panduga’

Nellore, June 15 (UNI) Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana directed the officials concerned to make elaborate arrangements for the famous ‘Rottela Panduga 'to begin on July 6 here at the Bara Shaheed Dargah.

Minister Narayana, flanked by MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, held a meeting with the officials concerned here on Sunday and reviewed the arrangements to be made for the Rottela Panduga.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Narayana said that the areas surrounding the historic Bara Shaheed Dargah were developed extensively in the past. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu sanctioned Rs 5 crores for the development of the Dargah, he highlighted.

“A prayer hall will be constructed in the vicinity of the Dargah, using the funds so that about 20,000 devotees can offer prayers at a time. The construction will be completed under the Nellore Urban Development Authority supervision. The municipal officials should coordinate with the Joint Collector on making arrangements for the devotees during the devotional Rottela Panduga programme,” the Minister said and told the officials to complete the works expeditiously.

The Municipal Administration Minister Narayana expressed anger over the officials concerned on the delay in completing the painting works of the overhead tank. He directed them to expedite the ongoing painting works at underpasses, over bridges and overhead tanks in the city.

The Minister asserted that with the aim of beautifying the city he had suggested that beautiful paintings be painted on underpass walls and over bridge pillars. He ordered the officials to complete the painting works in all places in the city within the next 45 days.

MLA Sridhar Reddy highlighted that the Chief Minister, with the support of Minister Narayana, had sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the development of the world famous Nellore Barashahid Dargah. The MLA noted that a spacious prayer hall would be constructed with these funds, he said, adding that the drawing of the prayer hall has been completed under the leadership of State Wakf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz, and the construction will be completed soon under the supervision of NUDA.

NUDA chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy said that the Rottela Pandula devotional programme to be held at the Bara Shaheed Dargah reflects the communal harmony as people of different communities offer prayers during the days of Rottela Panduga. The tender process would be completed for the construction of the prayer hall, he assured. In-charge Collector Karthik, SP Krishnakanth and other officials were present.
