AP: Two TDP activists killed as SUV hits their bike; family alleges murder

Narasaraopet, Mar 24 (UNI) Two Telugu Desam activists were killed when a Scorpio vehicle, belonging to another TDP activist, hit the motorcycle they were riding at Bodalla Veedu village of Veldurthi mandal on Saturday. The deceased TDP leaders were siblings.

However, the family members of the deceased have alleged that it was a case of murder.
Police said that the TDP leaders J Venkateswara Rao and J Koteswara Rao were going to their native village on a motorcycle.
A Scorpio vehicle hit their motorcycle at the rear end killing the two siblings on the spot.
Later, the SUV veered off the road and came to a halt in agricultural land.
Interestingly, the SUV belongs to another TDP leader Thota Chandraiah alias Venkatramaiah.
The deceased TDP leaders had differences with Thota Chandraiah. A struggle had been going on between the two groups for a long time for supremacy in local politics.

In this backdrop, the family members of the deceased leaders alleged that it was not a road accident but a clear case of murder.
The TDP activists told the media that Thota Chandraiah was previously in the YSRCP but recently joined the TDP.

Tension prevailed in the village over the suspicious death of the two TDP activists.
District in-charge Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar spoke to the Palnadu SP and inquired about the incident.
He expressed grief and conveyed sympathies to the bereaved families.
MLA Julakanti Brahma Reddy also spoke to the police officials on the incident.
