AP ULB Polls: Naidu warns rebels of action if they don't withdraw nominations

Vijayawada, Oct 20 (UNI) Telugu Desam party national president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday warned the rebels contesting as independents in the Urban Local Body elections, of disciplinary action if they did not withdraw their nominations.
Naidu held a video conference with Ministers, MLAs, MPs and senior leaders and directed them to convince those who are contesting as independent candidates in the ULB elections to withdraw.
He exhorted the leaders to strive for the victory of alliance candidates in the ULB polls. He advised the leaders to work in coordination with the BJP and Jana Sena party leaders to win a majority of seats. He told the leaders to register a more impressive win than the last Assembly elections.
Naidu instructed the leaders to promptly provide 'B-forms' to the candidates officially selected by the party and advised that everyone should work collectively to ensure the victory of the candidates who have been allocated seats as part of the alliance.
The TDP national chief made it clear that it is inappropriate for the three parties in the alliance to field candidates independently. He told them to coordinate with their allies and assess the relative strengths and weaknesses at the local level. Naidu further directed them to select capable candidates—those who are well-recognized by the public and have a strong chance of winning—rather than focusing on short-term gains.
Naidu also told the leaders to carry out house to house campaigns extensively and explain to people the development the government had carried out so far and the welfare schemes being implemented for the poor.
The ULB polls would be a test for the leaders and workers, he noted. Naidu highlighted that the TDP had given weightage to social equality in allocating 11 corporation mayor posts to the leaders of various communities. UNI DP CDS
