Arunachal’s Tage Rita selected for prestigious Vital Voices Global Fellowship 2025

Itanagar, June 18 (UNI) In a remarkable recognition of innovation and leadership, Tage Rita Takhe, founder of Naara Aaba, India’s first kiwi wine label, has been selected for the Vital Voices Global Fellowship 2025.
She is among 51 changemakers chosen from 39 countries worldwide for the prestigious leadership programme that empowers women driving global change.
Rooted in the lush highlands of Ziro and hailing from Hong village, Rita has long championed sustainable enterprise through her unique kiwi wine venture.
Her brand, Naara Aaba, emerged as a pioneering effort in agri-entrepreneurship, transforming excess and often wasted kiwi produce into a celebrated organic wine that has gained international acclaim.
Deeply connected to her Apatani heritage, Rita’s journey reflects both cultural pride and forward-thinking innovation. Her work not only promotes local produce but also provides a sustainable income source for farmers in the region, especially women.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has lauded her achievement, stating, “From the lush orchards of Ziro to the world stage, Tage Rita Takhe’s journey is one of grit, grace, and ground-breaking innovation.”
With this selection, Rita now joins a global community of women leaders supported by Vital Voices, an organization co-founded by Hillary Clinton and others to invest in women who improve their communities and lead positive social change.
“Now among 51 changemakers from 39 countries, she stands tall, carrying the spirit of Arunachal Pradesh into a fellowship that uplifts women leaders shaping a better world,” Khandu stated.
Her story continues to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs in Arunachal Pradesh and beyond.
