Bee attack on KSRTC bus leaves 17 passengers injured on Gavi route

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 21 (UNI) Seventeen passengers were injured after a swarm of bees attacked them when a beehive fell onto a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in the Kozhikanam area on the Pathanamthitta-Gavi route on Monday.
The incident occurred while the bus was travelling from Pathanamthitta to Gavi through the forested stretch. The impact apparently dislodged a beehive, triggering a bee attack as the swarm entered the vicinity of the bus and began stinging the passengers.
The driver and conductor of the bus were also stung in the attack. The incident took place in the interior forest area, away from inhabited locations, making it difficult to arrange immediate medical assistance for those affected.
The injured passengers were subsequently provided medical attention, and no serious health complications have been reported so far, sources said.
