Bihar BJP core committee discusses organisation, upcoming programmes

Patna, Sep 26 (UNI) The Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today held a meeting of its core committee here on Saturday to discuss the organisation''s upcoming programmes and the proposed Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, and BJP national general secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge Vinod Tawde were among the senior leaders who attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on strengthening the party organisation and chalking out the future course of action for the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Leaders also reviewed organisational activities and discussed measures to ensure effective implementation of upcoming programmes and campaigns.
Addressing the meeting, Saraogi said the BJP was a cadre-based organisation built around a commitment to public service. He said the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan was aimed at taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi''s commitment to public service to people at the grassroots level.
He stressed the need to ensure active participation of party workers up to the booth level and called upon workers to participate in upcoming programmes with coordination and commitment. The meeting also discussed region-wise organisational activities, the participation of party workers and the roadmap for forthcoming programmes. Leaders emphasised greater public participation in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan and efforts to reach a larger section of society.
Senior leaders said that a strong organisational network would help in taking welfare schemes and service-oriented initiatives to people at the grassroots.
The meeting also discussed the upcoming elections to eight seats of the Bihar Legislative Council from the Graduates'' and Teachers'' constituencies.
As it is, the Election Commission has scheduled polling for October 23, with counting on October 27. The eight seats comprise four Graduates'' constituencies-Patna, Darbhanga, Tirhut and Kosi-and four Teachers'' constituencies- Patna, Darbhanga, Tirhut and Saran.
According to party sources, the meeting discussed the strategy for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates in these elections, along with measures to improve coordination and communication among workers during the upcoming programmes.
Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Bihar ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Dr Dilip Jaiswal, BJP organisational general secretary Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania, and organiser Anant Narayan Mishra, who oversees the Bhagalpur, Purnea and Kosi regions, were among those present at the meeting.
