BJP alliance won Maha Assembly elections with help of EC: Congress leader

Mumbai, June 7 (UNI) Alleging that the BJP alliance has won the Maharashtra Assembly elections with the help of the Election Commission, senior Congress leader Nana Patole on Saturday raised a big question mark on the credibility of the EC.
Expressing his disbelief about the defeat of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the state assembly elections, which were held within five months after a landslide victory of MVA in the Lok Sabha elections, he charged that the BJP alliance has won by robbing votes in the dark of night with the help of the EC.
"According to the data released by the EC, the voting was 58.22 percent at 5 pm on the polling day, 65.02 percent at 11.30 pm on the same night and 66.05 percent the next day on November 21, which clearly shows a total increase of 7.83 percent. This is an increase of 76 lakh votes, how did the voting percentage increase?" he asked and claimed that this is a direct robbery of the votes.

"Why is the EC not clarifying the questions raised by Rahul Gandhi with evidence," he asked.
The world has seen through CCTV cameras how the BJP was declared the winner by rigging the ballot papers in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections, he recalled.
Similarly in Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was trailing from the beginning, but then the system came into play and the results were different, the former state Congress chief charged.
It is also clear how senior police officers who were favoured by the BJP were given responsibility during the elections, he alleged.
"The BJP won the elections with the help of the Election Commission. This is a stain on democracy and a big question mark has also been raised on the credibility of the Election Commission," Patole added.
