BJP hatching plot to relocate Bollywood to Uttar Pradesh, says Harshwardhan Sapkal

Mumbai, Oct 24 (UNI) Maharashtra State Congress Committee President Harshwardhan Sapkal alleged here on Saturday that the BJP is hatching a plot to relocate the Hindi film industry from Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh.
“Their intention to relocate Bollywood from Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh is no longer hidden and they are openly talking about it. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also publicly stated this. This raises the question if this is the real reason behind the increase in attacks on Bollywood stars”.
“When Bollywood artistes are being shot and Bollywood is preparing to leave Mumbai, the BJP Mahayuti government has lost the moral right to remain in power. Devendra Fadnavis must immediately resign if he cannot control the rising crime in the state. He has failed badly as home minister of the state,” Harshwardhan Sapkal told media persons here at the Congress office in Tilak Bhawan, Dadar West.
Sapkal stated that things have come to such a pass that the All India Cine Workers’ Association (AICWA) had to directly request security from union Home Minister Amit Shah recently.
“Bollywood, which is considered the pride of Mumbai, is now considering leaving Mumbai and relocating to other states or even relocating abroad, in order to save their lives. This is a major cultural and economic loss for Maharashtra ,” Sapkal said.
“If criminals run the film industry from Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat, with state patronage, the question is, what are the police and the BJP Mahayuti government doing? Obviously, it is impossible for criminals to become so confident without the political patronage of those in power,” Maharashtra State Congress Committee President Harshwardhan Sapkal said.
“What has emerged before our eyes, is the deeply shameful state of law and order in Maharashtra. The Chief Minister, who is also the home minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, is solely responsible for this pathetic situation.
"Incident after incident proves everyday that Devendra Fadnavis has completely failed to maintain law and order in Maharashtra,” Congress leader Sapkal said.
