Maha: Jarange warns BJP of political setback if Modi-Fadnavis conspiracy allegations prove true

Beed, Oct 24 (UNI) Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange-Patil has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the controversy surrounding an audio clip that has triggered a political dispute in Maharashtra, alleging that if there is any conspiracy involving Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the BJP could face serious consequences in the state.
The controversy surrounding the audio clip has intensified tensions between the BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction. The reported visit of a BJP leader to Delhi amid the row has also sparked speculation, prompting Jarange to question the developments and demand a thorough investigation.
Speaking to the media here, Jarange said he expected CM Fadnavis and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde to get to the bottom of the controversy. He warned that if the truth was not brought to light, he would accuse them of having orchestrated the developments themselves.
“If Devendra Fadnavis has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT), Prime Minister Narendra Modi should also deploy the central investigative machinery in Delhi,” Jarange demanded.
He further demanded that the investigation be conducted by an independent team, comprising senior IAS and IPS officers and judges, arguing that the inquiry should remain free from political influence.
Jarange also expressed apprehension that political leaders might travel to Delhi to discuss the controversy and subsequently join forces against him. He alleged that those in power could side with each other to suppress discussions taking place behind the scenes.
Referring to the circulation of the audio clip, Jarange questioned how Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam had obtained the recording even before he played it publicly. According to quota activist, Kadam possessed the complete audio clip and should disclose who had provided it to him.
"Ramdas Kadam knows who gave him the clip. That aspect must also be investigated," Jarange demanded and questioned why Kadam had played only a portion of the recording that allegedly damaged Shinde's reputation.
Jarange said he had played the complete clip and demanded an explanation for the selective use of the recording.
"Why did Ramdas Kadam play only the clip that tarnished Shinde's image? Who is trying to finish off Eknath Shinde?” he asked.
The controversy has added another dimension to the political tensions surrounding the alleged audio recording and the claims linked to it. Jarange has called for an impartial investigation to establish the origin, authenticity and full context of the recording.
The allegations made by Jarange remain claims and would need to be established through an independent investigation.
