BJP to Hold ‘Save Democracy’ March in Dharamshala on October 30: Darshana Singh

Dharamshala, Oct 26 (UNI) BJP Himachal Pradesh co-incharge and Rajya Sabha MP Darshana Singh on Monday called upon party workers to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and intensify public outreach, announcing a march in Dharamshala on October 30 under the slogan ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’.
Addressing an important organisational meeting of the BJP’s Kangra district unit here, Singh said the party was committed to strengthening democracy and ensuring that every eligible Indian citizen was included in the electoral rolls.
She emphasised that no eligible voter should be deprived of their democratic rights and described transparency in electoral rolls as a hallmark of a healthy democracy.
Targeting the Congress, Singh accused it of misleading the public on issues such as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls instead of clarifying its position. She said questioning constitutional institutions such as the Election Commission was inappropriate and urged the Congress to reflect on its own record, referring to the appointment of a former Chief Election Commissioner as a union minister.
Announcing the October 30 march, Singh said BJP workers and citizens would participate in the ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ campaign to reaffirm their commitment to protecting democratic values.
She urged party office-bearers to complete preparations within the stipulated timeframe and intensify public contact at the booth level.
Several senior BJP leaders attended the meeting, including Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma, former minister Sarveen Chaudhary, former MLAs Arun Mehra ‘Kuka’ and Vishal Nehria, state BJP spokesperson Sanjay Sharma, state media co-incharge Advocate Vishva Chakshu, Zila Parishad chairperson Seema Chaudhary, Kangra organisational district co-incharge Sanjeev Sharma, district president Sachin Sharma and district general secretary Devender Kohli, among others.
