Writers, poets from 25 states converge in Bhiwani for three-day national literary festival

Bhiwani, Oct 26 (UNI) Poets, writers and literary figures from 25 states have converged in Haryana's Bhiwani for a three-day national literary festival, transforming the city into a vibrant centre of poetry, storytelling and cultural exchange while highlighting the unifying power of India's diverse languages.
The Shabdakshar Haryana National Literary Festival 2026, organised by national literary organisation Shabdakshar at Shri Krishna Pranami Temple near Dadri Gate, brought together prominent literary personalities from across the country on Monday, the second day of the event.
Held under the guidance of Swami Dr Sadanand Maharaj, the festival features poetry recitations, literary workshops, discussions and creative writing sessions aimed at encouraging younger generations to reconnect with their linguistic and cultural heritage.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Additional Deputy Commissioner Deepak Babulal Karwa described the festival as a unique celebration of India's cultural diversity. "It was as though the entire country had come together at one place, with participants from different states presenting poetry in their own languages," Karwa said.
He praised the organisers for providing writers and poets with a common platform to share their creative expressions, observing that the programme offered an engaging blend of humour, satire, poetry and storytelling.
Shabdakshar's Haryana patron, Dr Murlidhar Dwivedi, said the participation of literary figures from nearly 25 states reflected the organisation's commitment to promoting literature, patriotism and national unity.
The second day's proceedings featured poetry and literary presentations by Rakesh Kumar and Brijesh Trivedi from Madhya Pradesh, Dr Mahendra Thakur from Chhattisgarh, Suresh Jangid from Rajasthan and Tekchand Sindhvi from Maharashtra.
National patron and internationally recognised lyricist Dr Buddhinath Mishra, along with national president Ravi Pratap Singh, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of literary festivals in promoting intellectual exchange and strengthening cultural ties.
Speakers emphasised that bringing together writers from different linguistic and regional backgrounds could help preserve India's literary traditions while inspiring emerging talent.
On the sidelines of the festival, Karwa, accompanied by psychiatrist Dr Kiran, visited Apna Ghar Ashram, operated by Pranami Ashram, and appreciated its facilities and services for destitute and vulnerable people.
The three-day festival is also providing a platform for established and emerging literary voices to exchange ideas, celebrate regional traditions and strengthen the connection between literature, culture and national identity.
