BLAs are pillars of Cong, says Telangana Dy CM Bhatti Vikramarka

Khammam, Sep 27 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said Booth Level Agents (BLAs) were the true pillars of the Congress party and assured that both the party and government would stand by those working at the grassroots level.
Addressing a meeting of Congress BLAs from Chintakani mandal at Nagulavancha village on Sunday, Bhatti urged them to take the government’s welfare schemes to every household and help strengthen the reputation of the people’s government.
Praising the work of Chintakani BLAs, he said their performance was exemplary compared to those in other mandals. Describing the Congress as a “mother” to its workers, Bhatti said every dedicated grassroots activist would receive due recognition.
He said development in the Madhira constituency had suffered over the past decade and called for completing development equivalent to 15 years within the present five-year term. Pending works relating to schools, roads and hospitals would be expedited over the next two years, he said.
Bhatti highlighted several government initiatives, including free distribution of 6 kg of fine rice per month to around 1.06 crore families, free bus travel for women, the planned revival of DWCRA loans with a target of ₹1 lakh crore in credit, and Gruha Jyothi, under which eligible households receive up to 200 units of free power.
He said the Rajiv Aarogyasri coverage had been increased from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh and announced that Indiramma Dheema, providing ₹5 lakh free insurance cover to every family, would be launched on November 19.
The Deputy Chief Minister also highlighted clearance of fee reimbursement arrears, direct transfer of funds to students, provision of breakfast, milk and ragi malt to 27 lakh government-school students, construction of Young India Integrated Residential Schools and investment support of ₹12,000 per acre for farmers in addition to farm loan waivers.
TPCC observer Duddilla Srinu Babu, Khammam DCC president Nuthi Satyanarayana Goud, Congress mandal president Kanneboyina Gopi and others attended the meeting.
