Chintalapudi project works to start next month: AP MP Mahesh Kumar Yadav ‎

Eluru, Oct 24 (UNI) Telugu Desam party Eluru Lok Sabha member Putta Mahesh Kumar today clarified that the obstacles to the Chintalapudi lift irrigation scheme have been removed and the project work will start next month.

In a statement here, the MP said that after the Naidu headed coalition government came to power, all obstacles were removed to complete the Chintalapudi project. More than 50 per cent of the Chintalapudi project has been completed. However the project's works had come to a halt due to the negligence of the previous YSRCP led government, he alleged.

Mahesh Kumar Yadav recalled that the union Forest and Environment Department had also recently given the green signal, saying that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had assured of starting the project works in November.

The MP said that if the Chintalapudi lift irrigation project is completed, about one lakh acres of land in Eluru district will be irrigated through canals. He explained that the lands of farmers in the hilly areas of Chintalapudi and Nuzvid constituencies will receive abundant water, and that the groundwater level will increase by filling the canals and ponds, and drinking water problems will also be solved.

The MP said that there would be no water shortage in Eluru district if Chintalapudi and Polavaram projects were completed and thanked CM Naidu for working hard to make this project a reality.
