Perform or resign: Sunil Bansal warns inactive Telangana BJP leaders

Hyderabad, Oct 24 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and Telangana affairs in-charge Sunil Bansal on Saturday issued a stern warning to the party’s state leadership, directing inactive office-bearers to either deliver on their assigned responsibilities or step down from their posts to make way for working cadres.
Addressing an extended review-cum-election committee meeting held at the party’s state headquarters here, Bansal pulled up functionaries for confining their political presence to the state capital instead of touring districts and engaging with grassroots workers.
Taking a critical view of leadership inertia, Bansal questioned the justification of leaders clinging to party posts without active field engagement.
He cautioned that office-bearers failing to justify their roles would be axed from the organizational setup if they did not resign voluntarily.
Underlining the need for direct micro-level outreach, the BJP national leader noted that addressing massive public rallies yields far less organizational dividend than regular, intimate ground contact, such as engaging with citizens in small groups and over tea.
Bansal expressed sharp dissatisfaction over the failure of several leaders to properly execute even two to three core nationwide outreach programs mandated by the central leadership, warning that accountability would be enforced strictly.
The blunt assessment came during a session held alongside deliberations chaired by BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao to review election readiness and shortlist candidates for the upcoming Graduate Legislative Council (MLC) constituencies.
