Cong MP questions KTR over hotels, assets and Telangana’s debt

Hyderabad, Oct 1 (UNI) Bhongir Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday hit back at BRS working president K T Rama Rao over the remarks on his business interests, questioning how KTR acquired multiple hotels after returning from the US and why Telangana accumulated substantial debt during the previous BRS regime.
In a statement, Chamala questioned KTR’s claim that he returned from the US after six years, started a hotel in 2006 and subsequently acquired two more hotels, saying these assets were declared in his 2009 election affidavit. He asked KTR to explain how he expanded his business while serving as IT and Municipal Administration Minister and questioned the alleged rise in the State’s debt during the BRS government’s 10-year tenure.
The Congress MP also questioned the assets allegedly held by KTR and his family in the US, Switzerland and England and sought clarity on the family’s farmhouses and other properties.
Chamala alleged that KTR’s business interests needed to be examined in the context of controversies surrounding the Kaleshwaram project and Formula E race. Recent reports have also documented Chamala’s earlier allegations concerning KTR’s Janwada farmhouse, which the property owner has disputed by stating that the property was leased to KTR.
Chamala said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s recent visit to Sircilla had caused concern among BRS leaders and alleged that KTR was responding by raising questions about the Congress government. He demanded that KTR publicly disclose details of his assets and businesses to address the issues being raised.
