Congress MLC Patil criticises Maha govt's decision to appoint 4 directors with voting rights at Gokul Coop Milk Producers' Federation

Kolhapur, Nov 5 (UNI) Congress group leader in state legislative council and MLC, Satej Patil, today condemned the Maharashtra government's decision to appoint four directors with voting rights on the board of Kolhapur Milk Producers' Federation, popularly known as 'Gokul', terming it as a 'black day' for the cooperative sector in the state.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan in Mumbai, he said, "The Mahayuti government has committed the sin of rejecting the Kolhapur farmers' vote in the Gokul elections. The government's decision to appoint four government members is an insult to the self-respecting Kolhapurkars and is only a ploy by the government to capture power in Gokul even though the people have rejected it."
Patil further said the BJP government has taken a wrong step in the cooperative sector, as this law will be implemented with retrospective effect.
"How can a law be implemented with retrospective effect by bringing it after the elections? The government is trying to reject the votes given by the people of Kolhapur. The people of Kolhapur will never accept this decision of the government. We will take to the streets and fight against this and will also seek a redressal in the court," he said and warned that a grand march will be taken out from Dussehra Chowk in Kolhapur to the District Collector's Office on November 9.
He also alleged that Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has a crooked plan of keeping only two milk brands of 'Amul' and 'Mitger' dairies across the country. UNI SSS SS
