Deputy CM Shinde in Kargil to inaugurate 'Border Braverython'

Mumbai, June 21 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached Kargil to inaugurate the 'Border Braverython' function to be held there tomorrow.
It is 26 years since the Kargil War, in which the Indian Army defeated Pakistan with a show of valor, and a special Border Braverython marathon has been organised in Dras in the Kargil region.

Shinde will personally attend the programme to be held in Dras to flag off the Braverython, which is being organised under the initiative of the Indian Army, Border Organization Pune and Aarham Foundation, said Deputy CM Shinde's office today.

This Braverython competition will be organised to salute the bravery, courage and sacrifice of the Indian Army and the competition will start tomorrow from the Kargil War Memorial in Dras.

The marathon will be held at an altitude of 10,800 feet above sea level and three thousand competitors will participate.
The first of these, the most challenging race of 21.097 km, 'Operation Vijay Race', will start from the Kargil War Memorial and end there again after making a detour.
The second race of 10 km will be known as 'Tololing Race'. The third race will be known as 'Tiger Hill Race' of 5 km, while the fourth and last race will be 'Future Heroes Race' of three km, said Shinde's office.

This race has been organised to pay tribute to the unparalleled courage and supreme sacrifice shown by the Indian Armed Forces in the Kargil War and to keep their memory with us forever.
