Mumbai, June 21 (UNI) Police have arrested two youths for allegedly raping a school-going girl at her friend's house during the birthday party at Malvani in Malad area of the city, official said here on Saturday.
The incident came to light after the 14-year-old girl's obscene picture was sent to her mother, following which, the mother lodged a complaint and the local Malvani police have registered an offence against the accused persons.
According to the details, in the month of February, the victim who studies in an English medium school, was invited to a birthday party by her classmate. Accordingly, the victim went to her house but no one else was there. Her friend went out of the house for some work and a 23-year-old young man came to the house. He said that he had come to the birthday party.
Then, taking advantage of the absence of anyone in the house, he raped her. Without the girl's knowledge, he filmed this incident on his mobile phone. Later, he sent the picture to another friend.
The other accused started blackmailing her based on this picture. He threatened to make the obscene video viral if she did not have sex with him. So in April, the victim went to meet him. He took the victim to a lodge in Gorai and raped her. The victim thought that this incident stopped there.
However, for a period of one-and-a-half-month, both the accused repeatedly threatened her and raped her.
However, on June six, one of the accused who was a dog handler, sent the obscene video to the girl's mother. Then this incident came to light.
Police have registered an offence under Sections 64(1), 56 (1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for rape and also under the Information Technology Act for making the obscene video viral.
