Dr Reddy’s Q2FY27 consolidated net profit falls 36 pc to Rs 925-Cr

Hyderabad, Oct 23 (UNI) Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd on Friday reported a 36 per cent year-on-year decline in profit attributable to equity holders at Rs 925 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026, against Rs 1,437.2 crore in the corresponding period last year, mainly due to lower sales of lenalidomide in North America.
The Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical major’s consolidated revenue declined 1.5 per cent to Rs 8,670.8 crore during the quarter from Rs 8,805.1 crore in Q2FY26.
However, revenue increased 7.4 per cent sequentially from Rs 8,070.5 crore in the preceding quarter, the pharma company said in release here.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell 24 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,782.8 crore, compared with Rs 2,351.1 crore a year ago.
The EBITDA margin stood at 20.6 per cent, against 26.7 per cent in the year-ago quarter, while it improved from 12.5 per cent in Q1FY27.
Profit before tax declined 33 per cent to Rs 1,227.7 crore from Rs 1,835 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company’s global generics business, which accounted for around 90 per cent of consolidated revenue, recorded a marginal decline of 0.7 per cent to Rs 7,792.7 crore. Revenue from North America dropped 23 per cent to Rs 2,489 crore, primarily due to lower lenalidomide sales.
In contrast, the emerging markets business registered 24 per cent growth in revenue to Rs 2,059.5 crore, while the India business grew 17 per cent to Rs 1,850.8 crore. Revenue from Europe increased one per cent to Rs 1,393.5 crore.
The Pharmaceutical Services and Active Ingredients (PSAI) segment reported a 12 per cent decline in revenue to Rs 831 crore, mainly due to lower volume uptake in the active pharmaceutical ingredients business, partly offset by growth in contract development and manufacturing operations.
For the first half of FY27, consolidated revenue declined 3.5 per cent year-on-year to Rs 16,741.3 crore, while profit attributable to equity holders fell 52 per cent to Rs 1,368.5 crore. EBITDA declined 40 per cent to Rs 2,791.5 crore.
Commenting on the performance, Co-Chairman and Managing Director G V Prasad said the company continued to improve the overall health of its business, delivering double-digit growth in its base business and EBITDA margins of over 20 per cent during the quarter.
He said the company remained focused on strengthening its core businesses, enhancing productivity and investing in strategic growth platforms to deliver consistent performance and create long-term value.
The company said its underlying base business, excluding lenalidomide in North America, continued to deliver double-digit growth across businesses, except Europe and API, supported by favourable currency movements.
