Education must operate in mission mode with focus on student development: Jayant Chaudhary

Hyderabad, June 15 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, on Sunday, emphasised that the education system should function in mission mode, with student development at its core.
During his visit to the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Chaudhary underlined the importance of implementing the research and findings of DIETs and SCERT in practical classroom settings.
He urged these institutions to adopt a results-oriented and development-driven approach to education. Highlighting the need for strategic planning, he stated that both long-term and short-term educational goals should be clearly defined and diligently pursued.
Acknowledging Telangana's position as a global IT hub, the Minister stressed the importance of integrating modern technology into the teaching process. He reiterated that education is a social process and that the pedagogy adopted must be closely aligned with the needs and realities of the school ecosystem. Chaudhary reiterated that a mission-mode approach is essential to drive meaningful progress in education, centered on student growth.
Director of School Education, Garia, said that the government is according high priority to the education sector. He noted that new teachers have been recruited, and that promotions and transfers have also been carried out.
Furthermore, all teachers will receive summer training, and students will be provided with free notebooks. He added that artificial intelligence tools will soon be introduced in classrooms to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
Earlier, the Minister toured a comprehensive photo exhibition at the Godavari Auditorium, showcasing educational activities from schools across the districts. The exhibits included visuals of teacher training sessions, initiatives in PM SHRI and KGBV schools, classroom teaching aids, the Badi Bata programme, and summer camps.
Chaudhary also reviewed modules and handouts developed by SCERT, along with the government-provided textbooks, notebooks, and student uniforms. He observed the implementation of the foundational literacy and numeracy initiative, FLN – A I (AxL), designed to enhance basic learning outcomes.
During classroom visits, the Minister interacted with students studying Telugu, English, and Mathematics, and expressed satisfaction with their progress. He also held discussions with the Principals of DIETs from Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and Nizamabad, gathering insights into their academic activities and institutional goals.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Central Education Department, SCERT faculty, teachers, and students.
