Educational institutions in Visakhapatnam closed on Oct 27, 28 as cyclone precaution

Visakhapatnam, Oct 26 (UNI) Educational institutions in Visakhapatnam district will remain closed on October 27 and 28 as a precautionary measure in view of impending cyclone Arnab, District Collector Abhisikth Kishore said on Monday.
In a press release, the Collector said holidays had been declared for all government and private educational institutions, including Anganwadi centres, keeping the safety of children in mind.
As the sea is expected to remain rough due to the cyclone, visitors have been advised to stay away from beaches, the Collector said adding, concerned officials had been directed to close beaches to prevent tourists and visitors from venturing into dangerous waters.
He urged people to remain alert and respond promptly to any emergency arising from the cyclone.
Control rooms have been set up at the Collectorate, GVMC, mandal and zonal offices and will function round the clock to provide immediate assistance in case of emergencies, he added.
