Even if we win all assembly seats, we will still demand for voting through ballot papers: Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow, Sep 28 (UNI) Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has backed BSP chief Mayawati's demand for restoring the ballot paper system, saying if developed coutries like the USA and Germany can hold elections through ballot papers "then why not us".
Countering the BJP's allegation that opposition parties always complain about EVMs whenever they lose an election, but remain quiet when they win elections, the SP chief said, "Even if we win all seats in any election still we will continue to demand for voting through ballot papers".
The former Chief Minister also claimed that change in the Election Commission or removal of the CEC can only be done "if we remove the BJP from power".
"Till the BJP is there, change in the system is almost impossible," he added.
Yadav alleged that UP has turned into a hot spot of cyber fraud in the country, but the BJP government is doing nothing to prevent it.
"Manupulation of EVMs is also like cyber fraud," he claimed.
The SP president also accused the BJP government of being the "biggest land mafia party".
"It is the Bharatiya Zameen Party. A massive scam has been committed against farmers in the name of land acquisition," he alleged.
He also charged the BJP with discriminating against madrasas and dividing people.
Addressing a press conference, Akhilesh Yadav said Muslims have full faith in the Constitution but the government is bent upon demolishing their mosques.
"They are bulldozing the law and even my house was declared illegal. But BJP leaders have the most number of illegal buildings and have encroached on government lands and also ponds," he claimed.
He also questioned about the status of the 84,000 hectares of seized land from the mafias, as claimed by the CM.
He also alleged vote-deletion and irregularities in the elections.
He promised to improve the conditions of Shiksha Mitras and said that the Samajwadi Party would oust the BJP from power in the assembly elections next year.
The SP president announced that the old pension scheme for teachers would be revived when his government comes to power.
Yadav said that "This BJP government has no other work to do. They only want to divide people. They have discriminated against madrasas. The BJP only knows how to divide. They provided half-hearted jobs and half-hearted education.
"When our government comes to power, we will fix everything. In the future, we will work to improve the Shiksha Mitras and honor them as teachers," he said.
He said that the semester system used to exist in engineering, but the BJP has introduced this in degree colleges. "We will remove that too," he said.
