Four of a family mowed down by speeding car in TN, 3 hurt

Chennai, May 24 (UNI) In a tragic incident, four members of a family were
mowed down by a speeding car and three others sustained injuries at
Kunjampatti near Usilampatti in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday.
Police sources said the victims were crossing the road when the tragedy
occurred.
The deceased included an one year old boy child and the injured too included
an one year girl child, whose condition was stated to be critical at the Usilampatti
Government Hospital, where the bodies were shifted by the police and fire service
personnel.
The victims were identified as Jothika, Lakshmi, Pandi selvi and one year old boy
Prahaladan, while the injured were identified as Jayapandi, Karupayee and
Kaviyazhini (1),
Reports said the driver of car, who was driving at high speed, lost control of the
vehicle and knocked them down while they were crossing the street.
Usilampatti police have registered a case and are investigating.
