Fourth suspect in Nuh's Rs 4.15 crore heroin seizure case arrested

Nuh, Oct 24 (UNI) Nuh Police have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the alleged seizure of 2.125 kg of heroin worth approximately Rs 4.15 crore, as investigators intensified efforts to trace the drug supply network and identify other suspected traffickers, including possible links to foreign nationals.
A police spokesperson said here today that the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), Tauru, arrested Shameem alias Kala, a resident of Nanuka village, on October 23. Police have sought his five-day remand for further interrogation.
The case dates back to September 19, when a CIA team intercepted an SUV near Rangala Valley and recovered 2.125 kg of heroin, arresting Arbaaz of Nanuka and Saleem of Kheri.
A third accused, Zahid of Padli village, was subsequently arrested during the investigation.
The spokesperson said Shameem had allegedly disclosed during questioning that he purchased 100 grams of heroin from a drug trafficker. Police are now attempting to recover the suspected consignment and arrest the alleged supplier.
Investigators are also examining the accused's contacts, suspected drug delivery routes and possible storage locations to establish the wider supply chain.
The spokesperson said the investigation had also raised questions about the possible involvement of foreign nationals, an aspect that remained under examination.
Police believe more individuals may be connected to the racket, with around four to five additional arrests possible as the investigation progresses.
The CIA team is continuing its investigation to identify the sources of the seized heroin, trace its distribution network and apprehend other suspects involved in the alleged trafficking operation. UNI KK SS
