Haryana BJP steps up organisational deliberations as Smriti Irani chairs core committee meeting

Panchkula, Oct 23 (UNI) The Haryana BJP on Friday convened a high-level Core Committee meeting at its state headquarters, Panchkamal, in Panchkula, under the chairmanship of state in-charge Smriti Irani, with a focus on strengthening the party organisation, improving coordination among its functionaries and expanding grassroots outreach.
Union Minister Manohar Lal, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, BJP co-in-charge Dr Bhola Singh and other senior party leaders attended the meeting, which is part of a series of organisational consultations during Irani’s visit to Haryana. A separate meeting with party MLAs is also scheduled as part of the ongoing deliberations.
The discussions are centred on gathering feedback from different levels of the organisation, strengthening coordination between party functionaries, and ensuring that the achievements and initiatives of the BJP government are communicated more effectively to the public.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, Irrigation Minister Shruti Choudhry said organisational strengthening had always been an integral part of the BJP’s functioning. She said Smriti Irani was collecting feedback from legislators, ministers, chairpersons and other functionaries to assess ground-level realities and identify areas requiring greater attention.
Choudhry emphasised that strengthening the organisation and improving its performance on the ground remained key priorities. She also underlined the importance of sustained public engagement, saying that ongoing interaction with the public was beneficial for both the party and the public.
Health Minister Aarti Rao said the discussions focused on strengthening the BJP organisation and preparing it for future political challenges, including upcoming elections. She said party leaders had shared their views and provided inputs on their respective departments, while Irani offered guidance on the way forward.
Highlighting the need to improve public awareness of government initiatives, Rao said the party had a responsibility to ensure that the government's benefits and achievements reached people at the grassroots level.
“Whatever work the government has done must reach the people. Ensuring that people are aware of these initiatives is the responsibility of all party workers,” she said.
Rao clarified that the initial meeting focused primarily on organisational coordination and future planning, rather than on a detailed review of shortcomings. She said the emphasis was on working more cohesively to strengthen the organisation in the coming period.
Mohan Lal Badoli, Chairman of the Haryana Public Enterprises Bureau, described the ongoing consultations as an exercise involving organisational assessment, discussions on the party’s functioning and planning for future activities.
He said the meetings brought together the state’s political and organisational leadership, including the party’s in-charge and co-in-charge, the state president, the Chief Minister, union ministers, district presidents, and other office-bearers. The consultations, he indicated, were intended to facilitate discussions on the prevailing political situation, review organisational activities and strengthen coordination across the party structure.
Separately, Badoli appealed to electricity employees’ unions to resolve their grievances through dialogue with the state government, stressing the need to prevent public inconvenience during the festive season.
He said Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s government maintained direct communication with employee organisations and was willing to discuss their concerns. Urging the unions to engage constructively with the government, Badoli said a negotiated settlement would be in the larger public interest.
He also appealed to employee representatives to recognise their responsibilities towards consumers and cooperate in resolving the dispute to minimise hardship for the public.
The BJP’s organisational meetings in Panchkula are set to continue with consultations involving legislators and other party functionaries, with the stated focus on strengthening the organisation, improving coordination and ensuring more effective communication of the government’s work across Haryana.
