Haryana: INTUC demands review of Labour Codes, restoration of wider worker protections

Gurugram, Oct 3 (UNI) The Indian National Trade union Congress (INTUC) today sought changes to provisions of India's four Labour Codes, including a lower threshold for standing orders and a review of restrictions on strikes, as Congress leaders accused the central government of weakening safeguards for workers and trade unions.
The demands were raised at a meeting of the Haryana INTUC state executive in Gurugram, attended by AICC Haryana in-charge Sanjay Dutt, Haryana Congress president Rao Narendra Singh, state INTUC president Amit Yadav and representatives of various trade unions.
The four Labour Codes — the Code on Wages, Industrial Relations Code, Code on Social Security and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code — were brought into effect by the Centre from November 21, 2025, consolidating 29 central labour laws.
