Haryana: Jindal asks officials to take immediate steps to curb Yamuna pollution, stop passing buck

Panchkula, Sep 18 (UNI) Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal today asked officials in Yamunanagar to take immediate and practical steps to make the Yamuna pollution-free, while telling the administration to stop passing responsibility from one department to another and focus on delivering concrete results.
Jindal made the remarks while chairing a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) in Yamunanagar. Ambala MP Varun Chaudhry co-chaired the meeting, according to a statement shared by Jindal on X.
The meeting reviewed issues concerning the overall development of the area and resolution of public grievances. Jindal said officials should adopt the “Principle of One Thing” and, instead of shifting responsibility onto one another, work towards concrete outcomes in the national interest. Pollution in the Yamuna figured prominently in the review, with Jindal stressing the need for immediate and workable measures to make the river pollution-free.
The meeting also discussed measures aimed at keeping young people away from drugs. Jindal called for organising sports festivals and promoting sporting activities as part of efforts to engage the youth.
