HP: BJP leader Pawan Kajal distributes Rs 5.40 Lakh to 27 women’s groups in Kholi

Kangra, Sep 18 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh BJP Vice-President and MLA Pawan Kajal on Friday distributed financial assistance to 27 women’s groups at Kholi Gram Panchayat, urging women to play an active role in combating drug abuse and other social evils.
Kajal provided Rs 20,000 each to the 27 groups from her MLA fund, taking the total assistance to Rs 5.40 lakh.
She said the groups could utilise the funds to purchase essential goods and other items required for their activities.
Addressing the gathering, Kajal said women had a significant role in the development of families and the region and called upon them to work collectively for social development.
Targeting the Congress government, she alleged that women had been deceived by the promise of providing Rs 1,500 per month, while the commitment to provide 300 units of free electricity per month to households had also not been fulfilled.
Kajal said water storage tanks had been constructed in Kholi Panchayat under a Rs 2.5-crore drinking water scheme, while a 3.5-km-long, three-inch rising-main pipeline was also being laid.
She said similar financial assistance would be distributed among women’s groups in all panchayats of the constituency.
